My Ananda Meditation Retreat Experience, Pune

By Rajkumar

The drive to Ananda Sangha’s meditation retreat near Pune is a lovely journey. As you wind through the mountains, you’re treated to some really beautiful views, helping you ease into a calmer state of mind.

Whispers of Divine Presence

I learned from Gopal-ji, a long-time Kriyaban and a fount of wisdom, that this sacred land was personally chosen by Swami Kriyananda, the direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda.

Swami Kriyananda resided here from 2010 to 2013, dedicating himself to intense meditation and offering guidance to a select few. His humble abode, complete with a beautiful garden, is meticulously preserved, and stepping into his room is like entering a vibrant vortex of love for the Master. You can tangibly feel his divine vibrations, resonating from his musical instruments, his simple sandals, and every corner of the space. I had the profound privilege of meditating there for a few blessed moments, a memory I will forever cherish.

The retreat also houses a beautiful Babaji Temple, where one can feel a tangible outpouring of Babaji’s unconditional love. And for those seeking deeper communion, the Kriya Yoga Mandir provides a sacred space for meditating in divine union, bathed in the blessings of our Guru.

While I couldn’t visit the Babaji Cave this time due to time constraints, it’s already at the top of my list for my next pilgrimage.

A Haven for Spiritual Growth

The retreat is lovingly managed by Dhaarana-ji, who ensures every detail contributes to a seamless and enriching experience. Their well-stocked boutique offers a delightful array of items to support your spiritual journey.

A highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the “chai chat” with Gopal-ji. His insights, born from years of dedicated practice and his personal association with Swami Kriyananda during his time in India, were truly soul-stirring. I highly recommend spending time with him; his stories are a profound source of inspiration.

Ananda Pune offers excellent accommodation, from private villas perfect for families to comfortable spaces for individual seekers. The food, served as prasadam, is not just nourishing but imbued with a wonderful, high vibration. There is a wonderful boutique with inspiring books, altars, cushions, and much more. I purchased the book Rajarsi Janakananda, which I felt would help me learn how to balance material life with spiritual upliftment.

This sacred space is ideal for seclusion retreats and deep inner meditation. Many revered Nayaswamis, including Haridas-ji and Roma-ji, have graced this place with their presence, further attesting to its spiritual potency.

I wholeheartedly encourage all Kriyabans to experience this divine abode at least once. Come and witness for yourself the profound love of Swami Kriyananda, the Master, and the Divine Mother that permeates every corner of this blessed retreat.
